SUPERHOT Celebrates Beta With a New Trailer
The development of the Polish shooter SUPERHOT has entered the beta stage. The developers published a new trailer to commemorate the fact.
Project SUPERHOT, one of the most promising indie games currently developed in Poland, has entered the beta stage of development. On that occasion, its creators released a new gameplay trailer presenting the game’s current appearance. The video features a substantial chunk of gameplay and shows us combat using firearms with possible appliance of elements of environment like, in example, hurling bottles at your enemies.
As a reminder, SUPERHOT is an FPS based on a curious idea - time in the game flows only when the player character is moving. This allows the player to do things impossible in any other first person shooter like dancing your way through the shower of bullets or achieving godlike accuracy. At the same time, all the maps and challenges have been designed to make the player earn his victory, despite him possessing such overwhelming powers. The ammunition is scarce, forcing the player to pick up any weapon he can get his hands on, while the enemies come in vast quantities from every possible direction.
The game was born as a freeware project from the Lodz based Blue Brick studios intended for the 2013 7DFPS competition. The objective of the competition was to create an original FPS in the span of seven days. SUPERHOT proved to be one of the best and most warmly received games conceived during this event leading its creators to decision to develop the prototype into a full-fledged commercial game. To fund the game’s development, a Kickstarter project was launched and promptly managed to gather 250 thousand dollars. The same amount has been obtained thanks to outside investors.
The commercial release version of SUPERHOT will be a much more ambitious project. The developers promise to introduce new gameplay mechanics, additional weapons and many more levels as well as Endless Mode where the players will try to survive as long as possible against infinite waves of enemies.
The game is coming to PCs and Xbox One sometime this year.
