Stuntfest Resurrected? This Could be Next Game From Wreckfest and FlatOut Devs
According to unconfirmed rumors, Bugbear Entertainment is returning to work on Stuntfest after long break. The game is supposed to be a combination of its previous works: Wreckfest and FlatOut.
On Reddit there was a mention that Bugbear Entertainment was working on their next project, called Stuntfest. According to user rockagent, the new game is supposed to be a combination of Wreckfest and FlatOut, which are titles that have come out from under the wings of the same developer and gained recognition of many players.
Interestingly, the information was taken from the Polish website ZdobywcyGier, unfortunately the link, which led to the alleged news is no longer active. Therefore, we can not say how reliable is the leak. Speculations of racing game fans are fueled by the fact that the revelations have not been in any way dismissed by the developer.
But it's been done before?
Interestingly enough, six years ago we reported that Bugbear Entertainment is working on a project called Stuntfest - a stunt sandbox, in which the only limitation was to be players' imagination. Unfortunately, after some time the studio changed its plans and canceled the title.
The setting and the mechanics
Thanks to the fresh leak, we find out how much the allegedly upcoming game has in common with the "prototype" from 2016. Stuntfest is supposed to be heavily inspired by the Finnish studio's previous titles and contain a touch of Destruction AllStars, as player-controlled characters will be able to leave vehicles and move on foot.
The dynamic races will take place on terrains reminiscent of Arizona deserts or the Grand Canyon in Colorado. The tracks, in turn, are to bring to mind those known from Trackmania (with numerous jumps and ramps). According to reports, the system of destruction of various cars in the upcoming project is to be very realistic.
For now, these rumors should be taken with a pinch of salt. Perhaps Stuntfest will be officially announced during THQ Nordic's (owner of Bugbear) game show scheduled for August 12th.
