Steam Summer Sale Reshuffles Weekly Bestseller List
Steam Summer Sale led to big changes in the list of the biggest bestsellers on the store. All games in the top 10 are game participating in the sale.
- Last week on Steam belonged to discounted games;
- There is not a single full-price title among top ten bestsellers;
- Sales leader was Sea of Thieves.
As every Monday, Valve released the weekly list of the biggest (by revenue) Steam bestsellers. Thanks to the summer sale, the top ten was completely rearranged. Most of the hits that were top sellers in June fell off the list, as players took advantage of the attractive discounts to revise their wish lists.
The first place was taken by Sea of Thieves. This is one of only two instances in the top 10 (the other being It Takes Two) that was present in the previous list. The 33% discount combined with the addition of new content to the game (including Jack Sparrow) has sent the game on a roll. This can also be seen from its activity results. In June, the number of users during the hottest moments of the day was 42.9% higher than in May.
The other items in the top ten are mostly older hits. The second place was taken by Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, and the third by Horizon: Zero Dawn - Complete Edition.
Gamers also took advantage of discounts on Rust, Playerunknown's Battlegrounds and Halo: The Master Chief Collection, which enabled these games to return to the top 10 after a long absence from the list. Forza Horizon 4 is also doing well, with the racing game taking up two positions on the list as Valve counts each edition separately. Unfortunately, it was not specified which spot was occupied by the deluxe edition and which by the standard one.
