Star Wars Squadrons Officially Announced
Electronic Arts has officially confirmed that it is working on the space shooter Star Wars: Squadrons. The company also announced when we will see the first trailer of the project.
Yesterday, an information about Star Wars: Squadrons (formerly known as Star Wars: Project Maverick) was leaked on Xbox website. Electronic Arts, the publisher of the title, decided that it would no longer make sense to pretend that the project does not exist and officially confirmed that it is in development. We were also informed that the game's first trailer will be published on June 15 at 8 AM PT.
Star Wars: Squadrons will be a space shooter, set to be released this autumn on PCs, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The game will offer both a story campaign and multiplayer mode.
The project is the responsibility of Electronic Arts's in-house team at Motive Montreal, which has previously developed, among others, the story campaign for Star Wars: Battlefront II. According to the rumor, it's supposed to be a medium-size project, not a big superproduction like Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. The Rogue Squadron series is cited as a source of inspiration for the devs.
