Tatooine and Jabba the Hutt in Star Wars Outlaws; Check Out Game's Beautiful Locations
In Star Wars: Outlaws, in addition to huge new planets, we will also visit familiar places and see familiar (though not entirely friendly) faces.
Developers from Ubisoft Massive and Lucasfilm are revealing more and more cards about the upcoming Star Wars: Outlaws.
This time, on the occasion of the San Diego Comic-Con event, a "behind-the-scenes"video (see below) has hit the web, in which the developers talked more extensively about the two planets we will visit while playing Outlaws. They are:
- the desert world Tatooine, known from the movies;
- and debuting in the universe the spectacular Toshara.
The game's director Julian Gerighty in an interview with IGN admitted that the appearance of Toshara is inspired by the East African savannah. The planet itself, meanwhile, was designed to be traversed on a so-called speeder, a Star Wars variation on the motorcycle.
Lucasfilm's senior creative director Matt Martin added that the planets in the game were created based on the so-called 80/20 system. It involves "sculpting" locations in 80 percent resembling real places on Earth, and filling in the remaining 20 percent with fantastic elements - consistent with the spirit of Star Wars.
In addition, members of Ubisoft Massive revealed that Outlaws will feature a character well known to fans of the movie saga - Jabba the Hutt (via IGN).

Interestingly, Jabba will not be just a curiosity or an easter egg, but an esteemed persona, with whom Kay, i.e. the main character of the game in question, will be able to team up. As if that wasn't enough, players will at some point get the opportunity to betray Jabba - which will have consequences in the plot.
Let me remind you that Star Wars: Outlaws will debut at an unspecified point in 2024. The game is heading to PS5, Xboxy Series X|S and PC.
