These Words on Star Wars Eclipse Should Reassure Fans of Franchise and Quantic Dream's Games
Developers from Quantic Dream have shared new information on the development of the Star Wars Eclipse project. Their words should reassure the waiting fans.
If you look back to the end of 2021, you will surely recall the impressive announcement of Star Wars Eclipse. Reveal of the new project from the creators of Detroit: Become Human, Quantic Dream, caused quite a stir among Star Wars fans at the time. Unfortunately, since then the developers haven't revealed any new information, and the only reports that reached us suggested serious problems with the project.
The breakthrough in the case came only during Tokyo Game Show 2023, where IGN editors had the opportunity to talk with Lisa Pendse. The vice president of marketing at Quantic Dream reassured that Star Wars Eclipse although slowly, is still being developed.
"Can I say that it [Star Wars Eclipse - editor's note] still exists? Yes, it does. It's just not ready yet. We are brewing it," she revealed.
As journalists managed to find out, Star Wars Eclipse contrary to previous assurances will not differ that much from previous Quantic Dream games. Indeed, the upcoming title is expected to offer many of the solutions for which the French developers are known.
"One of the most important things we focused on when we announced Star Wars Eclipse, was to make sure it's actually an action adventure game that has all the elements you'd expect and want from a Quantic Dream title, namely an intricately developed narrative and multiple playable characters. There is no "game over" screen. Anyone can die, anything can happen, and the story continues, so those features are still present. But what we're doing is expanding our existing gameplay even more," Pendse added.
When can we expect the release of Star Wars Eclipse? That, unfortunately, we do not know. However, given Pendse's words and recent rumors about significant delays, an imminent debut should not be expected. Fortunately, the wait for fans of Star Wars will hopefully be made more pleasant by Star Wars: Outlaws from Ubisoft, which is to be released next year.
