STALKER 2 Mods Are Already Here. Players Upgrade The Zone
The first mods to STALKER 2 are already appearing, and they fix, among other things, the problem with image stuttering.
The long-awaited S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl was released yesterday on PC and XSX/S, but it wasn't a perfect launch. The title struggles with various problems in the form of poor optimization and many errors and glitches on different configurations. GSC Game World studio is already working on additional fixes (following the initial ones), but it is not doing so alone. The first mods prepared by the community started to appear online.
At the time of writing this text, 13 mods are already available for download on Nexus Mods. The most popular of them - Stalker Optimizer - deals with one of the problems frequently mentioned in reviews, the so-called "stuttering."
The mod "greatly reduces image cropping by optimizing shader compilation and streaming resource transmission," as stated in the description. The creator also mentions that the mod may affect the game's performance, potentially increasing fps by 5 to 10, depending on the processor.
Players in the comments confirm that the mod actually improves the game's performance, although they note that we shouldn't expect miracles and the gameplay is still far from perfect. However, some people have reported that in their case the installation didn't change anything or even made matters worse.
Among other modifications, it's also worth mentioning the one that removes the weight limit of the equipment. This is a great option for players who like to take all the found items with them without worrying about the weight. Besides, we will also find mods changing the color scheme, removing aiming assistance, or reducing the health of some enemies.
Finally, it's worth noting that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl has already received over 10,000 reviews on Steam, with 81% of them being positive. Therefore, it appears that despite technical issues, a lot of people are enjoying the gameplay immensely.
