Spider-Man Beats God of War and Horizon; Leads Among Sony's PC Games
Both the PC edition of God of War and Horizon: Zero Dawn were beaten by Spider-Man; the game is Sony's new fastest-selling PC port.
Sony today boasted of its successes for the second quarter of fiscal 2022, and one of the most interesting pieces of information provided by the company is the one on the market health of the PlayStation hit PC ports. It turns out that Marvel's Spider-Man is Sony's fastest-selling PC port.
Although no specific figures were given, however, in this case you can refer to the previous results shared by the Japanese giant. We know, for example, that the PC edition of Horizon: Zero Dawn crossed the threshold of one million copies sold by the end of March 2022. Port of God of War on the other hand, was purchased 971,000 times in two months after its release.
Spider-Man therefore had to beat these results to earn the title mentioned in the introduction. According to estimates from the free version of Steam Spy, the number of people who have purchased this port on Valve's platform is between one and two million (although it should be remembered that the product is also available on Epic Games Store).
In this case, the popularity of the game on Steam may reflect the number of its copies sold. We have previously compiled Sony's PC port results, which look as follows:
- Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered - 60,210 players playing simultaneously at the peak of the first 24 hours after release;
- Horizon: Zero Dawn - 56,557 players;
- God of War - 49,411 players.
Port of Spider-Man launched on August 12 this year. On November 18, meanwhile, PCs will see the a standalone expansion to this game, Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
