South Park: Snow Day! Ends With RPG Genre, but Not With Goofy Humor. Fans Should Be Pleased

The latest game from the universe of South Park will be more of a roguelike than an RPG. The gameplay format will change, but the humor will remain the same - the devs have recorded more than 50 fart noises specifically for this game.

The cooperative game South Park: Snow Day! is set to be released soon (on March 26), and fans have just been given a new video discussing the gameplay details (via IGN). Snow Day! from Question LLC studio will lean more towards a roguelike experience than an RPG, and it will be playable in full 3D with a third-person view, unlike previous games in the universe of this cult series. However, the humor will remain the same - the information about recording over 50 farting sounds especially for the needs of this game appears in the first minute of the mentioned video and seems to speak for itself.

Snowball fight in co-op

As you know, in South Park: Snow Day!, we will play as the "new kid on the block," who, together with a group of three friends (our actual acquaintances or bots), will traverse locations known from the series, plunged into absolute battle chaos - the arctic climate has caused the kids to get a break from school.

The IGN editor seems to be exaggerating a bit when comparing the mechanics of subsequent approaches to Hades. I am posting the discussed material below:

In the game, we will face waves of enemies and bosses, and the special "fart power" will enable us to float above the ground and strategically overcome obstacles. The "bullshit powers" skills, unlike the basic ones, are meant to reset before every new game, and are also worth mentioning. Our next attempts will begin with selecting one "bullshit" card and one upgrade card. The first ones draw inspiration from children's typical creativity and vivid imagination. Therefore, from time to time we will even be able to summon a vampire or a meteor shower.

The goal is for every game to be distinct from the previous one, and various mechanics related to the mentioned abilities and character upgrades are intended to have a positive effect on the replayability. Some of them (those purchased using Dark Matter - one of the three currencies in the game) will be retained during subsequent attempts, which is supposed to ensure a sense of progression.

The game aims to radiate the distinctive humor of South Park, with Cartman insulting the player for their lackluster skills and kids swearing during fights. In the title, we will also see other characters known from the series: Kenny, Kyle, Stan, and others.

Let us know what you think about this new idea for another game set in the universe of Trey Parker and Matt Stone.
