Silent Hill With Surprising Narrative Will Definitely Launch on PS5
Once again, we have received proof of the existence of the as yet unannounced officially Silent Hill: The Short Message. The title, which is expected to resort to various narrative tricks to break the fourth wall, will definitely come out for the PS5.
During the October show, Konami announced four games in the Silent Hill series:
Silent Hill: The Short Message should be considered the big absentee of the event. We learned that it is being made a few weeks earlier, when the Korean agency The Game Rating and Administration Committee assigned it an age rating.
Despite this, the game did not live to see an official announcement. However, in the final days of 2022 its existence was confirmed thanks to an age rating agency from Taiwan, which assigned Silent Hill: The Short Message age category of 15+. What's more - the entry includes a logo and a brief description of the game.
You can see the former above. Tha latter reads as follows:
"Anita arrives at an abandoned apartment to meet her friend Maya. She strangely wakes up there and discovers that she has been trapped. Now she must escape her own fears and the monsters lurking in the corridors, and discover the truth behind the events that put her in this situation, and get out of it before the trauma consumes her will to survive."
The names of Anita and Maya coincide with those appearing in the May 2022 leak. There was also a reference to SMS (short message system), which were mentioned back in 2019 by Alana Pearce from Santa Monica Studio, suggesting that they are one of the ways in which the new Silent Hill will break the fourth wall.
So it looks like Konami has serious plans for the Silent Hill brand. For let us recall that there is talk about a whole new anthology to be created by developers from different corners of the world.
