Rick and Morty Advertise God of War Ragnarok; Fans Delighted
The release of the long-awaited God of War: Ragnarok is approaching. On this occasion, Sony is reaching for more and more interesting forms of advertising.
What has God of War: Ragnarok in common with Rick and Morty? At first glance, not much. However, thanks to Sony Interactive Entertainment's collaboration with Adult Swim, the two productions have become one. The Japanese corporation has decided to use the iconic animation by Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland to advertise its upcoming PlayStation game.
On the official Adult Swim channel on YouTube, a nearly 50-second video has appeared, in which Rick and Morty, in their own style, remind us of the release of the upcoming installment of the adventures of Kratos and his son Atreus.
In the commercial spot, we see Rick shaving his head and painting his face in a very distinctive way, then comparing Morty to Atreus, giving him a bow and setting off with his companion on another epic adventure. Ultimately, both heroes end up in the world of God of War, where Sanchez finds Leviathan - a powerful axe that we got to know very well through Kratos and Atreus' first adventure in the Norse world. What else happened in the video? See for yourself. Judging by the feedback from the community (some of which you can read below), it's definitely worth spending those 50 seconds for a screening.
"This is excellent marketing! And I don't know what I'm looking forward to more, more God of War or more Rick and Morty," writes Lion El Aton.
"We need this as an episode," declares Wallace Ferreira.
"I love it, my favorite series combines with my beloved game series," praises lyrical.
It is also worth mentioning that this is not the first such collaboration between Sony and Adult Swim. After all, at the end of 2020, Rick and Morty encouraged the community to buy PlayStation 5 consoles.
Finally, let us remind that God of War: Ragnarok is heading to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles, the game debuting on November 9, this year..
