Resident Evil Series in Limbo, Uncharted in Distant Future

Uncharted movie is once again experiencing delays, this time related to the coronavirus pandemic. Initial plans for the Resident Evil series to premiere on Netflix in June, this year have also changed. The production has no scheduled release date.

More and more movies and show are experiencing delays and are getting new, more distant premiere dates. Today we have bad news about titles based on video game series - Uncharted with Tom Holland changed its premiere date to autumn 2021, while the TV adaptation of the Resident Evil series remains without a specific release date on Netflix.

The new release date for Uncharted is October 8, 2021.

Uncharted has already undergone many changes, including delays. It was postponed from December 2020 to March 5, 2021. However, even next spring we will not be able to see Tom Holland as Nathan Drake - according to the latest news, the film will be released in cinemas on October 8, 2021.

So far, the work on the title was quite stormy - the production has lost its director as much as six times. It is even said that the movie is cursed. The recent changes in the crew are a topic we wrote about at the beginning of March. A new director, Ruben Fleischer, was hired and Antonio Banderas joined the cast. All that remains is to hope that October 8, next year is the date when the title will actually appear in cinemas.

The TV series was initially scheduled to be released on Netflix in June, this year. Currently, the date of its premiere is unknown.

The TV show based on Resident Evil games is also in a precarious situation. Originally it was supposed to debut on Netflix in June this year, but in a recent interview for Deadline, Martin Moszkowicz from Constantin Film revealed that discussions on the date of the title's release are ongoing.

So far, fans of Resident Evil brand will have to settle for the games. The upcoming release of Resident Evil 3, which will take place on April 3, may be a consolation. Until then you can still enjoy the open beta of Resident Evil Resistance.
