The Resident Evil series is the strongest brand owned by Capcom, which as of October last year, had sold a total of 150 million copies. Last year's remake of the fourth part of the series was one of the highest-rated games of 2023 on Metacritic, which translated into considerable interest from players and high sales.

Capcom announced via X that Resident Evil 4 Remake has already found 8 million buyers worldwide. This result was achieved in just over a year and a half. In the comments the fans showered the developers with thanks for delivering such a good title.

It is worth noting that half of the buyers decided to buy the game around its release. In April last year, Capcom announced that the title had sold 4 million copies in 2 weeks, of which the majority (3 million) were sold in 2 days.

Let's recall that less than a year after the premiere, Resident Evil 4: Gold Edition was released, which included the basic story, the Separate Ways expansion focusing on the character of Ada Wong, and several smaller DLCs like additional costumes.

Currently, we do not know exactly what Capcom is preparing for us in relation to this brand. The most likely is a sequel in the form of Resident Evil 9 (some want to believe that the game's Metacritic score indicates this), but on the other hand, there have also been rumors about a remake of Code: Veronica and Resident Evil 0. However, we still have to wait a bit for the official announcement.
