Resident Evil 4 Remake System Requirements
We have learned the system requirements of the PC version of Resident Evil 4, the remake of Capcom's classic survival horror game.
The day before yesterday Capcom released new footage and fresh information on the remake of Resident Evil 4. In turn, now the publisher has revealed initial systemrequirements for the PC version of the game (they may still change before the March release). They were published on the game's product card on Steam.
Resident Evil 4 Remake Pc - minimum requirements
- Processor: AMD Ryzen 3 1200 / Intel Core i5-7500
- Graphics card: AMD Radeon RX 560 4 GB / Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4 GB.
- DirectX: 12
- RAM: 8 GB
- Operating System: Windows 10 64-bit
The above configuration is expected to provide 60 frames per second at 1080p resolution on "performance settings" (i.e., most likely low), although the authors warn that there may be slight fps drops in the most demanding scenes.
Resident Evil 4 Remake PC - recommended requirements
- Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 / Intel Core i7 8700
- Graphics card: AMD Radeon RX 5700 / Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070
- DirectX: 12
- RAM: 16 GB
- Operating System: Windows 10 64-bit
The above configuration is expected to deliver 60 frames per second at 1080p resolution, although also here the devs warn that there may be slight performance drops in some sequences. In this case, it is not stated what graphics settings are required.
Regardless of the settings, in order to play with ray tracing, you will need a graphics card comparable to AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT or Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060/2070 or better.
Interestingly, the above requirements are virtually identical with those for Resident Evil Village, so if that game ran well on your computer, it should also have no problems to handle the refreshed version of Resident Evil 4.
It is worth adding that in the case of Resident Evil Village prior to its release, Capcom also released "ultra" requirements, describing the hardware needed to squeeze out everything the game has to offer. To play play in 4K and 60 fps on maximum settings we needed:
- Processor: Intel Core i7-8700 3.2 GHz / AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz;
- graphics card: GeForce RTX 3070 8 GB / Radeon RX 6900 XT 16 GB.
So you can expect similar ultra requirements for the remake of RE4.
Recall that the new Resident Evil 4 is headed for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 4. The release is scheduled for March 24, 2023.. Those who purchase the PS4 edition will be able to upgrade to the PS5 version for free.
Like does Resident Evil 4 fare against the remake of Silent Hill 2?
It is worth noting that the system requirements of Resident Evil 4 are noticeably lower than what Silent Hill 2 remake will need. This is not surprising, since the latter game seems to present a higher graphical level, judging by the first trailer.
