A new installment of the Doom series subtitled The Dark Ages, was announced during last year's Xbox Games Showcase. At that time, we learned that the game will be released in 2025, but we didn't learn the exact release date. However, information has now appeared on the internet, indicating that we won't have to wait too long.

The source of the reports is the French website GameKult, which published an article about Doom: The Dark Ages some time ago. It was announced in it that the game will be released on May 15, 2025. The text was quickly removed from the site, but as we know, nothing disappears on the internet and readers managed to take screenshots.

The article also mentioned that the date will be revealed during the upcoming Xbox Developer Direct, which, let's remember, will take place tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. PT. Microsoft confirmed that we will see the new Doom at the show, so it seems that GameKult most likely rushed with the publication of the text.

Doom: The Dark Ages is the sixth installment of the cult shooter series, and also a prequel to the game released in 2016. The plot of the game takes us to a unique vision of the Middle Ages and the beginnings of Doom Guy's career, and the core of the gameplay remains the elimination of hordes of demons. The devs announced, among other things, that the game draws solutions from the first installment of the series, and the new maps will be larger and more detailed than those in Eternal.

Doom: The Dark Ages is coming to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. On the launch day, the title will also be available in Game Pass.
