Ready or Not, Spiritual Successor to SWAT 4 Finds a Publisher
Team17 has signed a deal with Void Interactive. Under this agreement, the company has become the official publisher of Ready or Not, the SWAT-like tactical shooter announced in 2017.
Nearly four years ago, the world was abuzz with the news that Void Interactive was developing Ready or Not, a tactical first-person shooter that would become a spiritual successor to the iconic SWAT franchise. For a very long time of working on the title, the devs maintained complete independence. However, this has changed. Information appeared that Void Interactive signed a deal with Team17. As a result, the latter company became the official worldwide publisher of Ready or Not.
Both sides can't hide their satisfaction with the newly established cooperation. To quote Julio Rodrigeuz of Void Interactive (via All Games Delta):
"We’ve been working hard to make Ready or Not an immersive and engaging tactical shooter, and have already attracted a keen and excited community around the title. We’re thrilled that Team17 shares the same passion and ambitions for the game as we do, and we’re already working together to deliver an immersive and adrenalined-fuelled experience."
And here's what Team17's Chris Coates had to say about the deal (also via All Games Delta):
"Void Interactive are a hugely ambitious studio, and Ready or Not is an equally ambitious game. We’re very excited to work on the title, it fits within our broad stable of more mature titles, and we’re looking forward to working with Void as they look to deliver a truly engaging, squad-based tactical shooter."
As a reminder, Ready or Not is coming exclusively to PC. So far we do not know when it will officially appear on the market. What is certain is that in June, this year the game's beta tests will begin, in which we will be able to check both the single and multiplayer gameplay in PvP mode. Access to the pre-release version will be granted to everyone who purchases the game in the standard edition (currently priced at $39.99) or Supporter edition ($119.99).
