Ready or Not Devs Reportedly Lose over 2M Files to Hackers
Void Interactive studio has fallen victim to a hacking attack. More than 2 million files related to the popular shooter Ready or Not were stolen from the company.
The developers of Ready or Not had a massive amount of files linked to the game stolen. Supposedly, hackers had access to Void Interactive studio's data in March, but the company didn't officially disclose the theft at that time.
- Insider Gaming reported that around 4 TB of data, totaling roughly 2.1 million files, was stolen.
- Among the items stolen by the thieves were the source code for Ready or Not, game performance test results, and the code meant for the console version of the FPS (it should be noted that the title is currently only available on PC).
- The stolen files were also supposed to contain materials from the test version of the game for PlayStation 4. Furthermore, the information is said to also cover the specifics of other console editions, including PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
- No personal data of Void Interactive players and employees has been leaked. The studio itself hasn't yet issued a statement on this matter.
Ready or Not allows us to become a member of a special SWAT unit and participate in various missions. The game was released in its full version on Steam in December 2023, after being available as early access since 2021. Currently, you can buy the title at a reduced price - for the game until April 22, you have to pay $33.49 (originally $49.99).
The game's theme corresponds well with the real events described above. Let's hope that law enforcement will quickly locate the criminals and "raid their house," just like the players in Ready or Not do.
