- Improved weapon balance.
Ubisoft has released video footage of Operation Phantom Sight, an upcoming update to the popular online shooter Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege.
The video shows, among others, Nokk, the operator who is the title phantom. The character uses a gadget that silences her steps and makes her invisible on cameras. The gadget consumes energy, so after a while, you have to turn it off to allow the battery to regenerate.
The second part of the update title, Sight, refers to the operator known as Warden. He has special goggles that protect against flashbangs and allow him to see through smoke screens. This gadget also uses energy, so you can't use it all the time, and after turning it off you have to wait a while before you can reactivate the device, even if it's still not fully depleted.
The video also shows a remastered version of the Café Dostoyevsky map. During the upgrade of the level, the devs added three new points to plant the bomb and facilitated access to the existing ones. A number of small changes have also been made to improve the balance of the game.
The improved version of the map will be available for free with the release of Operation Phantom Sight. Year 4 Pass holders will be given the opportunity to play two new operators on the day of the premiere of the update. The other players will unlock them seven days later with Publicity Points or R6 credits.
We still don't know when Operation Phantom Sight will be released, although fans predict that it will happen on June 11, this year. Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege is available on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4, released in December 2015, but still very popular. Ubisoft recently boasted that 45 million people played the title last year, which is 40% more than in the previous twelve months.
