Quantum Break may be delayed until the beginning of 2016
Quantum Break, a promising action game designed exclusively for Xbox One, may fail to launch at the initially announced date. One of the employees of Microsoft unofficially admitted that the production will be completed no sooner than in early 2016.
Despite the fact that the two leading eighth-generation consoles have been with us for over a year, owners of new platforms are still waiting for the promised long list of great exclusive titles. In the case of PlayStation 4, the most anticipated productions are, among other, the soon-to-be-published Bloodborne and the already announced Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End; Xbox One players have already received the amazing Sunset Overdrive, but still have to wait for such hits as Halo 5: Guardians or Quantum Break. Unfortunately, all the signs point to the latter having a big delay. Initially planned for release in 2015 (specific day and month were not given), it will probably launch no sooner than in the beginning of 2016. The unpleasant burden of sharing this information fell to Jim Dae, Microsoft employee responsible for contacts with the Dutch community.
Dae informed on his Twitter account that the premiere of Quantum Break will probably be postponed to the beginning of the next year. Together with this piece of news, Microsoft's representative attached a link to Xbox Elite Team, a community fansite which – though generally well-informed – should not be considered a source of information that can officially confirm these worrying news. Unfortunately, no cause of the possible delay was given. As soon as we hear any official statement of the creators or publishers, we are going to update the abovementioned information immediately.
Quantum Break is an unusual action game in which the main theme is time manipulation. The protagonist belongs to a group of three people with an accidental ability to control time, and must make use of this talent much more quickly than he expected. For unknown reasons, the universe is beginning to crumble, and its integrity can be repaired only by preventing certain events – this is the responsibility our hero is burdened with. The formula of Quantum Break is what sets this production apart from other games of this type; instead of standard action with a specific beginning and end, in this case we are dealing with something resembling a TV series. The game, created by people who had previously worked on Max Payne series and Alan Wake, will be released exclusively for Xbox One.
