Quake Champions gets a pure gameplay trailer
Here are 2 minutes of uniterrupted gameplay footage from Quake Champions, the upcoming new e-sport-focused installment in one of the most recognizable FPS franchises in history.
Bethesda Softworks shared a 2-minute long video of uninterrupted gameplay from Quake Champions, the upcoming new incarnation of id Software’s classic first-person shooter series. Although sporting modern graphics powered by id Engine 6, this really looks like the fast-paced, over-the-top experience that fans fell in love with back in the 1990s.
This video comes just before the closed beta kickoff planned for this Thursday, April 6. If you haven’t yet, you can still sign up for the beta on the game’s official website. Even if you don’t get into the initial group of testers, you may still be invited later, as more players will be added over time.
Quake Champions is being developed mainly with a view to practicing e-sport, and thus it bears much resemblance to Quake III: Arena. Fans will find such classic elements as cramped maps with vertical construction or rocket-jumping, as well as new features, such as special abilities unique for each character class. Quake Champions is going to launch as a free-to-play title exclusively for PC later this year.
