PUBG Mobile Devs Work on a Zombie Survival Game
Tencent announced that the studio responsible for PUBG Mobile is working on Undawn, a co-op survival game set in a world overrun by zombies. The title is set to debut this year on PC and mobile devices.
Tencent has announced a new project from the creators of PUBG Mobile - Undawn (via PC Gamer). The title is a co-op survival game set in a world where most people have been turned into zombies. At the moment, the release date is unknown. We only know that the title will hit the PC and mobile platforms this year.
Currently, information about Undawn is quite limited. The only thing we have are images showing the characters (you can see them here) and the gameplay outline. According to the developers, the title will offer an open world filled with undead and players. This will enable us to establish relationships with other people by exchanging resources or forming alliances. This may also provoke fights not only against zombies. Of course, as in other games of this type, there will also be a crafting system and character progression.
According to Rick Li, the executive producer of Lightspeed & Quantum Studios, Undawn is to revolutionize the genre by combining solutions known from sandbox games and RPG. The developers also hope that their creation will be something new and unprecedented in the survival game genre. Whether the game will be a breakthrough, we'll find out after the release.
