Creator of SimCity and The Sims Prepares New Game; Modders Invited to Cooperate
Will Wright is recruiting people who will participate in closed beta tests of his newest production. He's looking for volunteers among The Sims modding community.
Will Wright is a legend of the video games industry, responsible for creating such brands as SimCity and The Sims. In 2008 his latest work to date, Spore, was released. Now there is a chance that in the nearest future something will change in this matter. As it turns out, the modding community of The Sims received an invitation from Wright for the closed beta tests of the title, which is being developed by Gallium Studios.
The message about looking for people willing to co-create the upcoming game appeared on Nexus Mods and Mod The Sims websites. It shows that Wright is working on a game in which "your memories become the gaming landscape...". This may suggest that this is about the mobile game Proxi, announced back in 2018. The first trailer for the aforementioned title also hints at creating a world based on the player's experiences.
Those who are interested in the offer must fill out a survey, the link to which is provided in the ad. It contains a series of questions concerning, among others, the engine in which one works, preferred methods of communication and frequency of publishing one's creations. People who pass the selection, are to have an insight into the entire development cycle and remain in contact with the creators.
This type of invitation may suggest that the game is in an advanced stage of development. So there is a chance that in the near future we will know more details about it.
