Over 3.8 Million PUBG Mobile Users Banned in One Week
PUBG Mobile, currently one of the most popular games available on phones, banned 3,884,690 cheaters in one week.
In January, we reported that PUBG Mobile, the mobile multiplayer battle royale shooter, was the most profitable mobile game of 2020 - its revenue reached more than $2.6 billion. The app has enjoyed ceasless popularity; Google Play reports that over 500 million users have downloaded it. With such a huge crowd of players, you have to reckon with a large number of people who will want to spoil the fun for others. The official Twitter account of PUBG Mobile states that between June 18-24, a single week, 3,884,690 cheaters were banned.
This is an incredible number, but it will probably grow in future reports. The week before, "only" 2,567,950 users were blocked. This means that in the following week over 1.3 million more accounts were banned. Such numbers show how low the threshold for entering the game is and what free gameplay on phones entails. We all have these devices, so basically anyone who wants can download the app and start spoiling the fun for others. The surge is also certainly influenced by holidays - with the end of school and beginning of summer holidays we have more time for entertainment.
The infographic also shows which cheats are most commonly used by players. We see the chart dominated by cheats changing the character model, for which 76% of cheaters were banned. No other type of illegal app manipulation exceeded 10%. The creators also shared information as to which ranks have the most cheaters. Interestingly, they can be found primarily among users already at a fairly high level, because in Diamond and Crown categories. These are respectively the 5th and 6th rank out of eight available, where the higher the rank, the more skilled the players. So you can see that cheats can enable you to quickly climb up and get more achievements. However, remember - ultimately it does not pay, and cheaters waste all their efforts once they are banned.
