PS5 and Xbox Series X Survey: Price Will be Essential
Ed Boon, an American developer, asked people watching his Twitter profile about the most important aspects of the upcoming PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles. As it turns out, according to the players, the purchase of the console will depend on the price, and not on backward compatibility or exclusive games.
- Ed Boon, co-creator of the iconic Mortal Kombat series, conducted a survey on the upcoming consoles from Sony and Microsoft.
- The most important aspect for the respondents is the price of the console.
- Exclusive games turned out to be the least popular reason, which surprised many Internet users.
Ed Boon, the co-creator of the Mortal Kombat series, conducted a Twitter survey in which he asked players about the most important aspects of the upcoming next-gens. Strangely enough, the price aspect of the new Xbox and PlayStation 5 collected the most votes. Other survey options included better visuals, exclusive games and the backwards compatibility that players fought so hard to achieve. Over 50 thousand people took part in the survey.
From Ed Boon's survey we can conclude that the price of new consoles (37.5% of votes) will be the most important for players. Another important factor is backward compatibility, enabling us to play older games on a new device from Sony or Microsoft (30% of votes). 19,2% of respondents chose that they wanted better graphics, and only 13.2% of people voted for exclusive games, which surprised many Internet users.
The co-creator of Mortal Kombat expressed his surprise in an official post on Twitter. The developer pointed out that he expected slightly different results - above all, he assumed in advance that exclusive games would be chosen by more respondents.
Coming back to the prices of the consoles, we know very little about them so far - recently there have been reports that the cost of producing one PlayStation 5 console is now 450 dollars. It can therefore be assumed that the price of the device from the Japanese giant will be in the range of 500 - 550 dollars. In turn, the cost of producing one new Xbox, according to the respected analyst Daniel Ahmad, oscillates between 460 - 520 dollars. If you believe the above reports, the new Xbox should be more expensive than the PS5.
