PS VR 2 Officially Unveiled; Specs Revealed
Sony revealed official specs and name for PlayStation VR's successor. PlayStation boss Jim Ryan personally hosted the presentations of the next-generation VR device.
Sony's conference at CES2022 brought the name and specs of a new VR headset for the PlayStation 5 console. The Japanese company announced the PlayStation VR2 goggles and PlayStation VR2 Sense controllers. The first mentions of the next-gen VR headset surfaced about a year ago, but only now we lived to see the official presentation of the device. Interestingly, the provided specs coincide with last year's leaks.
PlayStation boss Jim Ryan appeared on stage and personally led the presentation of the next-generation VR device. PSVR's successor will provide players with a more immersive gaming experience and facilitate immersion into virtual worlds.
Technical specs can be seen on the official PlayStation blog. The headset has OLED 4K HDR displays (2000 x 2040 pixels per eye), offers a refresh rate of 90 Hz / 120 Hz and a field of view of 110 degrees.
