Just two days ago, Grinding Gear Games studio announced a new event that will come to Path of Exile 1 in the unspecified future. It's intended to take the place of the new league, which has been considerably postponed because of efforts on the second installment. The developers didn't make us wait long for the first details, which they have now shared.

New Ascendancy classes

The upcoming event has been named Legacy of Phrecia and, as previously announced, will introduce new Ascendancy classes. As a small preview, the developers presented two of them, and the rest will be revealed over the next few days. However, they mentioned that these are currently being implemented, so they might undergo slight changes before the release.

The first class is Harbinger, intended for the Witch character. From the description, it appears that she specializes in Time Magic, and also summons allied Harbingers from their world to help us in battle. As a bonus, we will also be able to fly (and change the color to blue). Below you can see her skill tree.

The second class is Gambler, intended for the Duelist character. This is intended for thrill-seekers who wish to "reach the highest heights and possibly the lowest lows." As a Gambler, we let "luck take over," which is evident in the skill tree, featuring almost entirely "chance of..." type abilities.

Furthermore, the devs revealed another new feature, which is a mysterious window visible in the device for opening Atlas maps. Unfortunately, they didn't reveal what it is used for, but players already have their theories. Some of them believe that this is a place for equivalents of relics known from the mechanics of the Sanctum. Thanks to them, we could further buff the maps we go through.

We will find out whether the players are right at a later date. Due to the very fast pace of developing the event, the creators are unable to determine its release date. We will get to know it at the beginning of next week, along with all the details.
