Developers from the New Zealand-based Grinding Gear Games are quickly revealing the next cards of the upcoming Legacy of Phrecia event for Path of Exile. So far we have learned about 7 new Ascendancy classes and an additional system that will replace the Atlas tree. Many doubts were also dispelled regarding the latter. Now it's time for another dose of information.

Four new Ascendancy classes

Whisperer (Ranger)

Whisperer is a class that can infuse its attacks with mysterious powers. In her case, it will be important to invest in mana, which is used by many skills.

Herald (Witch)

The Herald class, as the name suggests, will focus entirely on the well-known "Herald of..." skills. Players can further buff them, but this will be at the expense of auras that the character won't be able to use.

Paladin (Duelist)

A paladin is a class aimed at supporting their allies in battle and protecting them from dangers. For this purpose, it has skill-enhancing points such as Link and Aura in the tree. Furthermore, enemies focused on him (debuff Taunt) are even more weakened.

Polytheist (Templar)

This is a Templar who has gone through a crisis of faith and turned his attention to many deities, seeking to find a new purpose in life. This allows him to harness the power of each, provided we choose to use them (meaning: add points in the correct spot in the tree).

Access to original Ascendancy classes

As we know, Legacy of Phrecia will introduce new classes in place of the familiar Ascendancy ones, meaning we won't be able to play with the old ones. However, it turns out that there is a certain way to access some points from the original trees.

In the FAQ of the event, a new answer from the devs appeared regarding the items Forbidden Flame and Forbidden Flesh. If you're not aware, when you use one of them, you will be awarded one specific point out of the three available for the basic Ascendancy tree class.

The developers confirmed that their actions will not change in Legacy of Phrecia. With these items, we can acquire the nodes we are interested in from the original classes, even if they theoretically aren't available. So it opens up extra possibilities for the development of our character.

Legacy of Phrecia doesn't have a release date yet. GGG is expected to release full details of the event by the end of the week, so we will most likely get to know it then.
