Although Grinding Gear Games is currently focusing mainly on Path of Exile 2, it has not forgotten the first installment, Path of Exile, either. The upcoming update, which is highly anticipated by fans, will introduce a new event titled Legacy of Phrecia. A few hours ago, developers revealed more details about it. So, what will it add to the game? Read our article to find out.

Path of Exile (PoE) – Legacy of Phrecia explained

The upcoming event, Legacy of Phrecia, as previously announced, will introduce additional Ascendancy classes such as Harbinger, Gambler, Architect of Chaos and Servant of Arakaali, among others. This will allow you to explore new possibilities in building your character.

The second interesting thing that will be added with the event is a change in the endgame. A new system will be introduced, replacing the Atlas Passive Skill Tree that everyone knows. Players will be able to find so-called Idols, which, when placed in the Map Receptacle UI, will guarantee various modifications to the levels.

The developers are aware that this change is quite drastic when it comes to endgame content, especially since the Atlas Passive Skill Tree is the foundation of this stage of the game. Nevertheless, they believe that with this revision, players will experience an infinite number of different endgame content configurations. With the new system, it will be easier to get the things players have been targeting the most, such as Essences of the highest tier on opponents or more Blueprints.

At the moment, the developers have not worked on the layers of Quality of Life for this event, however, in the future, if it becomes popular, the creators will think about improvements. Moreover, once the event is completed, it will be added to Private Leagues alongside Ascendancy Classes.
