PlayStation will make more family friendly games, but won't abandon games-services altogether
Sony doesn't intend to ignore the Astro Bot's success. The corporation has plans for more family friendly games.

Astro Bot, a 3D platformer from Team Asobi studio, turned out to be one of the nicest surprises of this year. It turns out that the success of the game gave Sony a lot to think about.
During a conversation with investors, the CEO of the Japanese corporation, Hiroki Totoki, didn't hide his satisfaction with the success of Astro Bot.
- It's not just about financial results (the title sold over 1.5 million copies).
- Totoki also emphasized that the game has won many awards, including being chosen as the Game of the Year at The Game Awards.
- Sony now wants to follow up and plans to release more family friendly games.
To avoid being overly optimistic, Totoki also confirmed that Sony is planning more games-as-a-service, arguing this with the success of Helldivers 2.
Reason for optimism
In general, the Sony head's statement gives cause for optimism.
Years ago, the company had a lot of cool games that could appeal to both adults and children. It's enough to mention series like LittleBigPlanet, Jak and Daxter, or Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time. All these brands are currently dormant and in this generation, only Ratchet & Clank has seen a new installment.
Let's hope that the success of Astro Bot will genuinely encourage the company to increase its investment in this category, as players would greatly benefit from it.
