Independent game Paralives has come a long way in development, but there is no end in sight yet. The life simulator by Alex Massé's team has been in the pipeline since 2018.
The developers regularly share with the enthusiasts of their creation monthly updates about the progress of their work. The latest March update is summarized in the following few paragraphs.
What's new with The Sims competitors?
As of the current moment, Paralives' official website features a list of goals completed as of March 2022. Developers have made the following progress so far:
- Designing the main live mode systems: interaction, animation, improving the pathfinding system,
- improving the Paramaker (advanced character creator), adding new features and bug fixes,
- adding body and face shapes for the adult model,
- designing and implementing the animation system and its support for mods,
- creating more character animations,
- working on musical direction and soundtrack,
- brainstorming and "designing various aspects of the game".
Late last year, the developers boasted an expanded character creator, enabling us to configure many body elements, clothing or tattoos.
Through their social media accounts, the team working on Paralives regularly conducts brainstorming sessions with their fans - the most recent such session focused on the emotions and moods of the game's characters.
Although the project has been a long time in the making, the developers, through regular updates and by working with the community, are making it clear that the title is doing well and is slowly but surely moving towards its goal.
