Palworld With Best Game Pass Debut, Excluding Microsoft’s Titles. Still, Sales of Pokemon-Like Overwhelm
Pocketpair studio has shared new data related to the number of Palworld players. The production is so popular that it scored the best debut in Game Pass, not including Microsoft games.
Not many people expected the unassuming survival game with Pokemon-like creatures to become such a massive success. Today, Pocketpair studio has revealed new data that proves the popularity of its latest game, Palworld. In less than two weeks since its early access premiere, more than 19 million players have played this title.
As the devs report:
- Palworld sold 12 million copies on Steam;
- 7 million people played the game on Xbox (the game was released on Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One) - this probably also includes subscribers of the PC/Xbox Game Pass service who launched the game;
- The developers' priority is to release patches that will fix bugs.
Earlier, the devs had stated that 8 million copies of Palworld were sold on Steam, but didn't share the number of Xbox users who started the game - either after purchasing it or as part of Game Pass. It's interesting to consider what proportion of these 7 million players are subscribers to Microsoft's service. Until we know the official data, we can only speculate on this subject. The Xbox department has only announced that Palworld had the most successful premiere on Game Pass out of all the games that were added at launch and weren't developed by Xbox Game Studios.
Let us recall that at its peak, 2.101 million people were playing Palworld simultaneously on Steam (via SteamDB). On Valve's platform, only PUBG: Battlegrounds can boast a better result.
