Outlast Trials Announced - New Horror Will Get Multiplayer
The Outlast Trials is the third game from the Outlast franchise. As the title suggests, developer Red Barrels does not prepare a direct continuation of Outlast II. Instead, we will get a prequel that will enable us to play both alone and in co-op mode.
Red Barrels has announced the third game in the Outlast franchise. The Outlast Trials, as the project is called, is now in the early stages of production (it has just left the concept phase), so we don't know when it will debut and on what platforms. However, the devs shared some information about its story layer and announced that it will allow for both solo and multiplayer gameplay.
To start with, The Outlast Trials will be set in the middle of the Cold War and the players will take on the role of heroes who are objects of terrifying experiments. The main goal of the protagonists will be the battle for survival, which will require them to face the title (enigmatic) "trials". In addition to the single-player mode, this title will include a full-fledged co-op for up to four players.
Aaaand... that's all the information Red Barrels has released so far. The devs promise, however, that xwe will get to know more specifics "soon". However, we can already see that the developers seem to be bored with the "recipe for scaring" used so far, so they intend to experiment with it a bit. We will see, however, whether the changes introduced by them will be for the better only when they allow us to look at their new work.
