Norland and Cataclismo Didn't Repeat Manor Lords' Success, but Managed to Establish Sizable Fan Bases Through Devs' Hard Work

Hooded Horse is celebrating the success of the Norland and Cataclismo games. They aren't hits on the scale of Manor Lords, but the publisher seems to be very pleased with their results.

Hooded Horse company has repeatedly emphasized that companies' pursuit of big hits only harms the industry and game developers. Therefore, the publisher of Manor Lords and Against the Storm also celebrates some smaller successes, such as great ratings and good sales of strategy games Norland and Cataclismo.

As reported on social media, Long Jaunt's city builder was purchased by over 185,000 people. After three weeks and 15 updates, the game has received a positive rating from 77% of almost 4,000 Steam users.

Over 150,000 copies of the Digital Sun Games game have been sold since July 22nd. Cataclismo has received over 1,700 reviews, with 93% of them being positive. The title didn't receive as many updates as Norland, but the developers have already released a handful of updates and hotfixes.

Both games also have a decent level of activity on Steam (via SteamDB). The recent peak of Cataclismo has seen almost 2,000 people in the game, while Norland has had nearly 2,500 users simultaneously.

Of course, these aren't results comparable to Manor Lords, which even after a significant drop, still doubles the results of both these games (via SteamDB). Slavic Games has also achieved significantly higher sales, with the title being purchased 250,000 times in June alone.

However, this only shows what a phenomenon Grzegorz Styczen's game is. Norland and Cataclismo continue to perform brilliantly and are doing well in Early Access so far. The publisher appears content and it seems they truly have no plans to give up on these "less popular" titles in favor of a big hit.

The publishers and developers were congratulated on their success by, among others: representatives of Pocketpair (Palworld), Slavic Magic, and Bloodbath Studios (Crestfallen: Medieval Survival).
