Nobody - The Turnaround Demo Attracts Thousands of Players on Steam
Steam Next Fest is slowly coming to an end. One of the winners of the event may turn out to be the game Nobody - The Turnaround, the demo version of which is played by thousands of people.
45k - that's how many players were attracted by the demo version of Nobody - The Turnaround at the hottest moment of the day. This is a surprisingly good result, which rather no one, including the developers, the studio U.Ground Game, predicted.
What is Nobody - The Turnaround?
Excellent reception of the game led to it finding itself in Steam's top 50 most popular titles.
But what is the game actually about? As the creators write, it is "a realistic simulator of life in a modern society".
"With systematic reconstructions of your possible physical status, such as Health and Emotions, Nobody – The Turnaround aims to accurately represent the working class’s working and living situations. You may suffer minor injuries from an accident due to manual labor, have a breakdown while seeing other people’s paychecks, or even get sick due to sleeping on the streets. Your life might be affected by various unexpected random events, and you need to do your best to survive."
The item seems to resemble Shenmue with its repeated mini-games and open exploration of the city, as well as implementation of simple systems known from RPGs.
The gameplay is based on acquiring new skills by completing various tasks, as well as developing the character's personality traits, on which the success of many dialogues crucial to the plot depends. After half an hour of demo it's hard to say more - except that it's a good game. Nobody - The Turnaround is scheduled for release later this year.
There is also an opportunity to follow the live stream of the dev playing and ask him questions during the event.
Where is the demo available?
The demo is available on Steam as part of the Steam Next Festival. This is an event that enables the community to test hundreds of games without having to purchase them. "Samples" are completely free. And after the results achieved by the discussed game, we can safely assume that some of them will soon live to see buyers.
