No Rest for the Wicked Not Working, Crashes Explained
If No Rest for the Wicked crashes for you constantly, here we analyse the problem and preset a potential culprit.
Just recently we have seen mildly successful release of No Rest for the Wicked in Early Access. The game mixes the aRPG genre with soulslikes. This combination gives us an interesting title where Diablo or PoE-like gameplay is becoming more technical and personal thanks to stamina-limited combat and roll mechanics similar to those from Dark Souls or Lies of P. However, no matter how great idea that would seem, currently the title experiences a lot of technical issues. The most severe of them are undoubtedly game crashes. Let’s see if there is anything that can be done to alleviate them.
Crashes in No Rest for the Wicked explained
The debut of No Rest for the Wicked in Early Access gathered an impressive number of fans on Steam. Many of them praise the painting-like art style, well-crafted world, and interesting combat system which takes its inspiration from soulslike titles. Unfortunately, just as many players are complaining about technical aspects, like performance and keybinding issues. Furthermore, there are cases of crashes that are making the Moon Studios production unplayable. Is there something that can be done to solve this problem on our end?
Sadly, as of now, there is no good remedy for this crashing issue. The worst thing is that even people running powerful machines with the latest generation of GPUs are also experiencing this problem. There are voices of fans who report that adding a pagination file to a drive that the game is installed on solves the issue for them, yet it seems quite unlikely. However, that might point out to a fact that the developers highly recommend using an SSD drive to play Wicked.
As already mentioned, the production just entered Early Access on Steam, which means that technical difficulties are expected. With all the feedback that the developers have and will receive from the players, they will be able to build upon those voices and fix Wicked with time. The creators have plans to implement multiplayer component to the title, but currently they have more pressing matters to address. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for this otherwise brutally charming game.
