Worlds Part 1 update for No Man’s Sky, released on July 17, 2024, gave the universe a huge makeover. Enhanced weather features and enriched planetary details made worlds feel more alive than ever. New types of alien plants and creatures, along with dramatic changes to existing planets, many worlds have undergone radical transformations, turning them into entirely new environments. These changes caused some players’ settlements to disappear or became stuck under the surface of water (including mine!). So, should we expect more surprises like this in Worlds Part 2?

New planets, Creatures, and more surprises in No Man’s Sky Worlds Part 2

Here's what we can expect from Worlds Part 2 update:

  1. Follow an epic story to create brand new star system, adding even more variety to the universe.
  2. Engine enhancements include new terrain generation, improved water rendering, and a total overhaul of lightning systems.
  3. Worlds are more varied than ever, and are populated with a vast array of strange new creatures.
  4. Entirely new planet classes have been added, including gas giants, water worlds, and ruined civilizations.

So basically, even more than last time. More weird creatures trying to kill me, and best of all – a new story. I’m always up for more adventures and quests! Plus, we’ll finally get to uncover the mystery behind those purple star systems that showed up after the Worlds Part 1 update but were later removed. Exciting!

If you're having trouble locating those gas giants and purple star systems, check out our guide for tips on how to find them.

As we can see, we’re also getting better lighting and water effects, along with massive Gas Giants that can be up to ten times bigger than regular planets. But exploring them won’t be easy – we’ll need some serious new tech. But what I’m most hyped for are the ruined civilizations. Sure, we’ve seen small forgotten remnants before, but now we’ll get to explore huge, complex structures.

And of course, no major update would be complete without a new expedition. This one is named Titan, and we should all be able to embark on it soon. Hopefully, it will feature some truly special rewards, along with The Wraith ship that looks absolutely amazing.

Been with gamepressure.com since 2019, mostly writing game guides but you can also find me geeking out about LEGO (huge collection, btw). Love RPGs and classic RTSs, also adore quirky indie games. Even with a ton of games, sometimes I just gotta fire up Harvest Moon, Stardew Valley, KOTOR, or Baldur's Gate 2 (Shadows of Amn, the OG, not that Throne of Bhaal stuff). When I'm not gaming, I'm probably painting miniatures or admiring my collection of retro consoles.
