NieR Automata Church Mod Now Available

We have lived to see the release of the controversial mod The NieR Automata Church, the projet with the new location that has fooled thousands of people in the game's fan community.

In July, the community of NieR: Automata was heated up by a video showing a supposedly newly discovered secret location in the game. Eventually it turned out to be a joke, and the project was in fact a fan modification. The confusion stems from the fact that up to that point the game was considered very hard, if not impossible, to mod. Now, this mod has finally been made available for download.

The project is simply called The NieR Automata Church. It adds a new location to the game in the form of a mysterious hidden church, filled with enemies and minor story elements. There is even a dedicated cutscene.

The mod's developers suggest playing it at level 90. They also recommend treating the modification as a separate adventure, which you will uninstall after completing. This is because trying to play the standard campaign with the mod installed can cause errors.

The mod became famous for misleading the fans. The truth turned out to be disappointing for many, but don't let it overshadow how important this project is. The fact that the modders finally managed to figure out a way to add new content to NieR: Automata is a great development. Hopefully, this is just the beginning and fans will provide us with years of fresh challenges in this game.

Recall that NieR: Automata debuted in February 2017 on PlayStation 4, and a few weeks later a PC version was released. The following year, the game was ported to the Xbox One console. There are also plans for a release on Nintendo Switch, scheduled for October 6, this year.
