Unlike many other MMOs trying to reach as many people as possible, the title will require us to have quite a strong hardware by genre standards. Work on New World has been going on for several years. The action of the game will be set in 17th-century America, but the historical setting will be enriched with numerous fantastic elements. The game is designed as a sandbox. The devs promise full freedom of career choice, and most events in the virtual world will be driven by the actions of the players themselves. During the game we will be able to fight against monsters controlled by artificial intelligence, as well as other participants of the game.

Let us remind that New World is not the only game from the Amazon. In 2016, the American giant announced a total of three titles - Breakaway, Crucible and New World. Unfortunately, the first of these projects was abandoned after less than two years of wdevelopment, and Crucible has went off the radar for the time being. What is more, in the middle of this year the company made mass layoffs in its development teams, stating that it intends to focus primarily on the development of New World. According to the theories of industry experts, staff reductions and suspension of further projects were caused by problems with the Lumberyard engine, which powers them. Interestingly, only a month after the announcement of the changes in the studio's policy, Amazon announced that it is beginning work on another MMORPG, this time set in the universe of the Lord of the Rings.
