New Witcher Saga Directed by The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077's Lead Animator
Sebastian Kalemba, animator for many of CD Projekt RED's games, including Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3, has announced that he will direct the new Witcher saga.
We finally found out who will direct the new Witcher game saga. The team will be helmed by Sebastian Kalemba, a long-time employee of CD Projekt, who was responsible for animations in previous installments of the series.
- Sebastian Kalemba's career has long been associated with The Witcher brand.
- Prior to joining CD Projekt RED, he worked at Platige Image, including on CGI trailers for The Witcher 3.
- In 2014, he joined CDPR, where he first served as lead animator for The Witcher 3 and its expansions, and Cyberpunk 2077. He then became chief animation director for all CD Projekt RED productions.
- Last year, he took the position of the studio's creative director, and now he has become the director of the new series of The Witcher games.
As you can see, Kalemba has a lot of experience working on The Witcher and it seems that the series is in good hands. The developer commented as follows on his new role:
"I’m directing the new Witcher Saga. Since joining CDPROJEKTRED I believe nothing is impossible and raising the bar, telling emotional stories & creating worlds is what we’re here for. I’m proud to be part of CDPR and work with such a talented and passionate team."
Unfortunately the next The Witcher will not be coming out anytime soon. Last month, a representative of the CD Projekt group announced that the game will be released no earlier than 2025.
