Leak Reveals Information About New Tomb Raider
In early April, Crystal Dynamics announced the start of work on a new installment of the adventures of Lara Croft. Thanks to Colin Moriarty, we may have learned detailed information about the project.
Tomb Raider is undoubtedly one of the most recognizable brands in the world of video games. The history of Lara Croft dates back to 1996, when the brave archaeologist made her debut on console and PC screens. Since then, the franchise has lived to see several fantastic installments. The last game was Shadow of the Tomb Raider from 2018.
As a lot of water has passed under the bridge since its release, several months ago Crystal Dynamics announced that it had begun work on the next part of the adventures of the young archeologist. Unfortunately, until now we have not received any new news from the studio about the work. With help came journalist Colin Moriarty, who presented interesting information related to the project.
A handful of information about the plot and title
The aforementioned leaks were revealed during the Sacred Symbols podcast. If the information is to be believed , the new Tomb Raider is being developed under the code name Project Jawbreaker. The work itself is described as "an adventure game with fantasy elements set in a modern world shaken by a mysterious cataclysm" - sounds intriguing. Lara Croft
The journalist also gave us some insight into the silhouette of the actress playing the role of Lara Croft. According to what he relayed, the casting guidelines were for an athletic 30-something British woman. If the information checks out, we'll be looking at a mature version of the treasure hunter reminiscent of actresses such as Rosamund Pike and Emily Blunt. Interestingly, Lara will also receive "romantic scenes with another woman.".
Tomb Raiders team?
In addition, from the further description we can learn that the heroine will inspire groups of more treasure hunters with her adventures and the hitherto lonely British woman will receive her own team of people to assist her.
While most of the information gives hope for a great game, leaks about Lara working with a larger team sound a bit exotic. Until now, the heroine has had to face all her adventures virtually alone, which caused a certain thrill when playing the subsequent titles. However, there is nothing to pass judgment upon here yet, we will find out everything in time.
