New Subnautica Got Release Date; Unclear if Players Will Also Love It
We learned the approximate release date for the next installment of the well-known survival game series. Information about the debut of the third installment of Subnautica and the next game from the PUBG brand comes from Krafton's financial report.
If you still haven't got enough terrifying exploration after playing the survival game Subnautica and its standalone expansion Below Zero, then you can slowly get ready for another dose of similar experiences. The new installment of this well-loved series is scheduled for release in early 2025.
Such information was provided by Krafton in a financial report published some time ago. Unknown Worlds studio, the developers of Subnautica, were purchased by this American holding company in 2021 - hence this mention within the presentation.
Unfortunately, here's where the details end. We don't know in what form this new survival game will be released, although it's possible that, following the example of the previous installment, it will go into early access first. The game's theme is also unknown. The Below Zero expansion enriched exploration of the depths with, among other things, expeditions to the ice-covered surface and new, slightly alien-looking creatures (such as the charming Pengwins).
Let's point out that both the first game and the expansion released a few years later were very warmly received by the players. On Steam, as many as 225,000 people have given the base game a review, and 96% of them are positive. Below Zero also attracted a ton of players - 91% of the more than 75 thousand fans recommend the standalone DLC. Expectations for a full-fledged sequel can therefore be very high. Unfortunately, we can still only guess whether it will live up to them.
This is not the first information about another title set in the Subnautica universe. Last year, Unknown Worlds sought person for the position of designer for this game.
It is worth mentioning, by the way, that the creators of this survival game are also working on a completely different project entitled Moonbreaker. The full version of this multiplayer battle game, in which the player fights with freely painted figures, is expected to debut before the new installment of Subnautica - The title is available on Steam as part of early access.
In addition, we learned that the upcoming Project Black Budget will debut in the second half of 2024. It is to be a new shooter from the Playerunknown's Battlegrounds brand, from the developers of 2017's PUBG. For now, we have not received more detailed information about the game.
