A new project by Unknown Worlds, a team known for its games Subnautica and Natural Selection 2, will soon be revealed.
- The project will be unveiled this month, during the Opening Night Live show of this year's gamescom. This was informed by the organizer of the event, i.e. Geoff Keighley.
- The game is expected to be a new sci-fi IP. So it is not a new Subnautica.
- During the show we are expected to see a long gameplay from the project.
It is worth mentioning that from the job advertisements it appears, that Unknown Worlds is working on "a new game set in the universe of Subnautica". The fact that the project, which will be announced at gamescom, will be a new IP, may suggest that the studio is working on two games in parallel.
However, it is possible that by "new IP" the developers mean only the beginning of a new series set in a well-known universe, but not developing its gameplay solutions. Released a few months ago, Krafton's financial report (owner of Unknown Worlds) suggested that the team's next game would be a turn-based strategy game.
What it will be in reality, we will find out in two weeks. Recall that gamescom Opening Night Live show will kick off on August 23 at 11 am PT.
