New Info on Netflix's Sandman
The creator of the Sandman comic book series, Neil Gaiman, reassured the fans, revealing that work on Netflix's TV adaptation will resume as soon as the coronavirus situation allows it. For now, the scripts for the first season's episodes have been completed.
Because of the coronavirus situation, the future of many TV shows seems uncertain. It turns out, however, that at least the viewers waiting for the serial adaptation of The Sandman can sleep peacefully.
The creator of the original, Neil Gaiman, decided to reassure the fans. He revealed that the scripts for all episodes of the first season have been completed. Until recently, castings and recruitment of directors took place. Even the construction of the set has begun. The pandemic forced the preparations to grind to a halt, but they will be resumed as soon as it becomes possible to produce TV shows again.
Neil Gaiman also informed that while waiting for the work to resume, the authors are polishing the scripts so that they are as good as possible.
Let's recall that The Sandman is coming to Netflix's streaming service. The first season is to consist of eleven episodes. They will focus mainly on adapting the plot of issues 1-8 of the comic book original, collected in the volume Preludes & Nocturnes. The episodes are also supposed to contain threads from later issues, but Gaiman hasn't yet specifically disclosed which ones.
It's worth mentioning that Netflix must be sure of the success of the series, because last year Gaiman informed that plans for the second season have already been outlined.
