New Expansion for EVE Online is Called Invasion
CCP Games, the creator of the popular MMORPG EVE Online, announced that the game will be soon followed by another expansion - Invasion. The add-on will force the players to defend everything they have created over the years.
EVE ONLINE: INVASION IN A NUTSHELL:
- The expansion will focus on the war with the Triglavian race;
- The add-on is expected to bring major changes to the universe;
- Invasion will enrich the game with new ships and mechanics, and improve several existing ones;
- The expansion will debut on May 28.
CCP Games has announced that the famous science fiction MMORPG EVE Online will soon receive a new expansion. It will be entitled Invasion and will focus on the conflict with the mysterious Triglavian race. The add-on will debut on May 28 and will be available free of charge to all subscribers.
"EVE Online has always had the goal of providing new experiences and a living universe like no other," said Hilmar Veigar Pétursson, CCP’s Chief Executive Officer. "With EVE celebrating 16 years of strength and innovation, we continue to build on that ambition and tradition."
Players are to be forced to defend everything they have built up over 16 years of the game's market presence. Developers ensure that the storyline of the expansion will change the EVE Online universe forever.
"EVE has always been about actions having lasting and meaningful consequences, so with EVE Online: Invasion our goal has been to provide a universe-changing event for our community to experience in familiar space," said Bergur Finnbogason, EVE Online’s Creative Director. "Capsuleers will be defending their territory from a fearsome new sect. We’re incredibly keen to see our players fighting for the star systems they hold dear against an increasingly serious threat unlike anything they've ever faced before!"
The expansion will introduce three new ships based on Triglavian technology - Nergal frigate, Draugur destroyer and Ikitursa heavy assault cruiser. The add-on will also offer a lot of new content, some graphical bells and whistles, and unknown effects affecting entire star systems. We can also expect big changes in the mechanics of declaring war and the activity search tool known as The Agency.
It is also worth noting that the EVE Invasion Tour promo event is in progress, as part of which the creators visit various places in the world and meet with fans of their title. On May 4, the developers appeared in St. Petersburg (Russia). Visits to Toronto (Canada, June 21-23), Kemiönsaari (Finland, August 23), Berlin (September 13-14), Las Vegas (October 25-27) and London (November 23) are also planned.
