MSFS 2024 is Supposed to Be 99.999% „Reliable.” Reviews on Steam Are Now „Mixed”

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 will soon receive further updates with fixes, but the developers are already supposed to deal with stability issues. Asobo Studio has published another post dedicated to their latest flight simulation, in which they outlined plans for the coming weeks.

The developer announced that after the hotfix from November 22, MSFS 2024 will receive another patch on December 2nd, and the team will release a larger update on December 9th. The content of the second update hasn't been mentioned yet, but it is supposed to introduce additional stability improvements, as well as a few other fixes.

At the same time, Asobo Studio claims that after increasing server bandwidth, the "reliability" of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is now at "99.999%" and the "servers and services are functioning as expected." The developers also constantly update the page with frequently asked questions about MSFS 2024.

At least that's what the studio assures. Comments online indicate that as of Tuesday, many people were actually able to play MSFS 2024 without issues. This can also be seen in the reviews on Steam - there are clearly more positive opinions than in the first week after the release. Fans also rave about how the game world looks… when it works properly.

MSFS 2024 - it's better, but not good

In this case, "more" means that the ratings for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 are positive, making up only 40% of the reviews submitted. Not all players believe in the assurances of the devs because some of them still experience graphics problems that, in some instances, resemble the visual settings of titles from the first PlayStation. It certainly doesn't look like a game from the current decade.

Fans have also complained about the campaign being full of bugs and requiring unlocking some content, which, in their opinion, forces a tedious grind to gain access to all the features. Additionally, there are various bugs such as the absence of plane sound on Xbox Series X/S and the camera having a tendency to position itself in random, strange places after resetting its position.

The players also tried to improve the game's performance. The result is a thread on Reddit, where the author shared a graphic presenting the impact of lowering various settings from maximum to low.

The temporary disabling of access to the content from previous Microsoft Flight Simulator installments by the developers especially irritated the fans. Developers have received reports of problems caused by the works of "third parties," including the inability to "enter the simulation."

That's why it was decided to block these types of add-ons for now. Asobo Studio has announced that the patch scheduled for December 9 will introduce the option to manually enable or disable the blocking of this type of content, as well as the "safe launch" feature, which allows the game to be launched without any add-ons in emergency situations, such as constant crashes.
