New Mortal Kombat Launches, This Time it's a F2P RPG
A new Mortal Kombat game has been released. Onslaught, however, is not a fighting game, but a free-to-play RPG available for mobile devices. The launch trailer gives a look at the gameplay.
Announced last year, Mortal Kombat: Onslaught has been release. However, it is not a fighting game, but an RPG with elements of strategy set in the universe of the series, in which we direct a team of four warriors, facing off against successive waves of enemies.
The game was released on Android and iOS mobile devices and is distributed in a free-to-play model. You can therefore download it from Google Play and the App Store.
The launch trailer presented above gives a glimpse of what the gameplay looks like Mortal Kombat: Onslaught. Our chosen fighters - they are divided into four character classes (assassin, fighter, sniper and defender) - face off against a group of enemies. The course of the clash is somewhat strategic, because although our warriors fight automatically, we can issue each of them a direct command., such as when to use a special attack.
As we win successive battles, we earn rewards and resources, which enable us to increase our warriors' combat skills and upgrade their equipment. The iconic fatalities can also be unlocked - however, you need relics that are as rare as they are powerful.
Although Mortal Kombat: Onslaught has online modes - including ranked and seasonal PvP gameplay - it also offers a story campaign in a cinematic envelope. As we complete it, we gradually gain access to an increasingly bigger roster of warriors. They include, for example, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Liu Kang, Johnny Cage, Kitana or Shao Khan.
It is worth adding that Mortal Kombat: Onslaught is getting quite positive reviews. As there are only five in the App Store so far, the ones from Google Play are much more representative. They latter platform has well over 1,000 of them and they give an average of 4.6 out of 5.
