Monster Hunter Wilds - PS4 and Xbox One release explained
Are you wondering whether MHW will make it's way onto your trusty PS4 or Xbox One? Here you will find the answer you are looking for.
Everything shows that Capcom has an ace up their sleeve. Even though Monster Hunter: Wilds, the latest installment of a long running MH series, is not out yet, the first impressions do not leave any doubts – the game is bound to be a success. Obviously, to make the biggest profit, publishers would like to get the title to as many people as possible, and that’s why the MHW will be released on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Wait, but what about older, trusty devices owned by millions of customers, namely PS4 and Xbox One? Here we will try to dig a bit deeper regarding the chances of this production making its way onto 8th generation consoles.
MHW PS4 and Xbox One release explained
It goes without saying that Monster Hunter grew into an immense franchise gathering hundreds of thousands of fans on PC alone. It is only logical to have such big series available on multiple platforms, isn’t it? Call of Duty Black Ops 6 was released on PS4 and Xbox One. What about Monster Hunter Wilds then?
Sadly, the possibility that it is going to happen is rather non-existent. MH, despite its popularity, is not as big as CoD franchise. Capcom might be unwilling to put resources into supporting two additional pipelines of older hardware.
As disheartening as it can be, the generational transition has to happen at some point to drive progress. In fact, we are already almost 5 years after the premiere of 9th generation consoles, so it shouldn’t be surprising that more and more titles are leaving older platforms behind. An example of Cyberpunk 2077 shows how bad things can go if developers cling too tightly to the obligations, they are unable to keep. Let’s hope that by going this path, MHW will deliver a great experience when it eventually comes out.
