Model Building Simulator Gains Popularity on Steam

Model Builder collectspositive reviews and is currently ranking quite high among games gaining popularity. The title is a treat for modeling fans.

Model Builder is a game by Kuba Wojcik and Polish studio Moonlit Games. The release took place on February 8th. The title collects mostly positive reviews on Steam and holds a high spot in the category of new popular titles on Valve's platform.

A game about modeling

Model Builder is a simulator in which we assemble and paint virtual models of various vehicles, machines, figures, etc. The game offers both a career mode, in which we take over a modeling workshop after our deceased grandfather, and a free play option, where we simply work on a model of our choice.

The title was created in cooperation with Moonlit Games and Jakub Wojcik - developer and president of Indie Games Poland foundation. As the creator himself mentions on Twiter the game is inspired by his father's passion.

Model Builder enables us to choose from a wide range of kits to assemble and paint. We can find here both machines from the World War II period and projects related to pop culture, such as lightsaber or a Gunpla (model kit of a mech from the Gundam series).

Popularity on Steam

On Steam, the modeling simulator collects positive reviews. At the moment it has 423 reviews, 77% of which are positive. The title also ranks high in the list of popular new games. Whereas according to Steam Spy is on the fourth place in the category of titles gaining popularity on Valve's platform.

According to Stockwatch [in Polish] the game has already sold almost 27 thousand copies, which is a really good result as for such a niche topic. It must be admitted that a ton of work has been put into in the creation of Model Builder - the kits are refined and very detailed. The title will certainly appeal to avid modeling fans (e.g. those who cannot engage in their hobby in real life, for various reasons), but those who have never had contact with this hobby, should also give the game a chance. The game requires patience, but this should come as no surprise.
