Mojang Will Combine Minecraft Java and Bedrock Editions
The Java and Bedrock editions of Minecraft will be merged. From now on, players will not have to decide on one of them.
- Starting tomorrow, Minecraft Java and Bedrock will be available on PC in one package;
- Players will no longer have to decide to purchase one of them;
- Existing owners of either edition will get access to the other for free.
From 2017 Minecraft is available on the market in two versions: Java and Bedrock. Both, of course, have their advantages and disadvantages, so players had to think carefully about the decision to buy either of them.
However, these dilemmas will become a thing of the past, because Mojang has decided to collect both versions in one package.
Two in one
Starting tomorrow, Minecraft players on PC will not have to choose between the Java and Bedrock editions. Instead, the only edition available will be Minecraft Java and Bedrock Edition, which is a bundle of both variants.
This will not only make the choice easier for players, but will also allow for the use of both versions on one computer. Until now it was only possible to purchase one edition at a time.
The new Minecraft bundle will enable us to choose which version of the game to run via the Launcher. Nothing prevents us from using both editions, depending on our needs.
What is important, this change will benefit not only people who are just considering buying the game. If you already own any version of Minecraft then tomorrow you will also receive the second of them for free.
Update just around the corner
This is not the only new feature that will be added to Minecraft tomorrow. On June 7, the game will also get update 1.19, so-called The Wild Update. The patch will introduce to the game a new swamp biome, an ancient city and the Warden mob.
Unfortunately, the number of new features did not appeal to many fans. A lot of players found that the update looks really poor in comparison to the previous Cave & Cliffs Update.
Keep in mind, however, that this was an exceptionally large update, and now Mojang is returning to a slightly quieter mode of game development.
