Minecraft 1.19 The Wild Update Release Date; Criticism Intensifies

The confirmation of the release date of The Wild Update has not met with the same enthusiasm as previous updates to Minecraft.

Developers of Minecraft have revealed the release date of the game's new update. The Wild Update will be released on June 7 on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch and mobile devices. Along with the update, the highly anticipated mob Warden, swamp biome and ancient city will come to the game.

While with the two previous updates players received a similar announcement with enthusiasm, after recent weeks the players have mixed feelings. It's not even about the relative lack of content compared to both parts of the Caves & Cliffs Update - after all, it was officially the "biggest update ever" and it's hard to expect the developers to make so many changes every time.

Yes, some players point out the modest number of new features. But it's not about this fact alone, and the fact that Mojang promised much more even in Cave & Cliffs, only to underdeliver. Even leaving aside the archaeology (which was delayed to 2022), the Wild Update will lack bundles for storing items, skylights, and birch biome restoration, among other minor updates.

You can see how little The Wild Update introduces compared to Mojang's promises on the image advertising the update. Some players point out that the image contains many elements although it shouldn't, such as the desert biome, which has not seen any changes. A certain Reddit user even tried to "fix" the graphic, so that it show only the new features (and a lot of white background).

The release of The Wild Update is not the only event prepared by Mojang. For the past three days, the community has been celebrating the fifth anniversary Minecraft Marketplace's launch. Until June 12, every day will see new promotions, as well as maps for purchase. Not that this particularly delights the players, at least judging by the comments under the trailer.
